Voltaire (1979-2004) was a renowned Dutch Warmblood stallion in the field of showjumping, born in the Netherlands. Bred by E. Kuwet, he was registered with the KWPN studbook. Although he faced initial challenges due to his size and a hoof issue, Voltaire gained approval from multiple studbooks such as KWPN, Selle Français, Hanoverian, Oldenburg, BWP, UNIRE, and DWB. His sire was Furioso II, a notable Thoroughbred cross, and his dam, Gogo Moeve, boasted a strong sport horse lineage. Voltaire, ridden by competitors like Jos Lansink, secured major victories in Grand Prix events including Berlin in 1989 and consistently participated in Nations Cup competitions held in Calgary, Stockholm, and Wembley in 1988.
