About Concorde
Concorde is a (died 2014) bay KWPN showjumping stallion foaled in 1984, by Voltaire out of a Marco Polo dam.
Concorde, born in 1984, was a KWPN stallion known for his showjumping prowess and influence as a sire. Bred in the Netherlands by L. van Diest, he boasted a lineage that included his sire, Voltaire, and his dam, Flyer. Voltaire was globally recognised for sporting excellence and ranked among the top showjumping sires, while his maternal grandsire, Marco Polo, contributed successful progeny to Dutch jumping. Concorde's international career with rider Jos Lansink included victories such as the Grand Prix of Nordrhein-Westfalen in Aachen and winning the Dutch National Championship in 1994. Known for consistent excellence, Concorde often secured second place in prestigious Grand Prix events throughout Europe, establishing his status as an elite competitor. In addition to his accomplishments in the ring, he achieved 'preferent' status early as a breeding sire, impacting future generations. Celebrating his legacy, Concorde was named 'Horse of the Year' in 2004.
Concorde was a prolific sire, with many of his offspring making significant marks in the showjumping world. Notably, his progeny includes Presley Boy, who achieved first place in the Calgary five-star 1.60m class and other international successes, including a notable performance at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington. Other distinguished offspring such as Audi's Jikke, Conquest II, Larino, Viktor, and Isabella have competed successfully at Grand Prix levels and World Cup events. Concorde's progeny dominated rankings at the World Breeding Championships for Young Jumping Horses for several consecutive years, emphasizing his lasting genetic influence on the sport.
