About Jos Lansink

Jos Lansink, born in 1961 in Weerselo, Netherlands, is a renowned showjumping rider noted for his international achievements with the Netherlands and Belgium. His international prominence was first marked by a 7th place finish individually and a 5th place team finish for the Netherlands at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Lansink achieved a career highlight by winning a team gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics with the horse Egano. After changing his sporting allegiance to Belgium, he continued his success, notably winning the 1994 World Cup Final with Libero H. Lansink's dedication was evident when he claimed an individual gold medal at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen with Cumano. He also earned a bronze team medal at the 2002 World Championships in Jerez de la Frontera with Caridor Z, further cementing his leadership in showjumping. In addition to competing, Lansink is a respected trainer and horse trader, founding Jos Lansink Horses in 2004 as a stable for jumping and trading. Though diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016, Lansink remains active in the equestrian community, focusing on training and trading, showcasing his unwavering passion for showjumping.
