About Libero H
Libero H is a (died 2006) bay Holsteiner showjumping stallion foaled in 1981, by Landgraf I out of a Ronald dam.
Libero H was a bay Holsteiner stallion born in 1981, bred by Martin Röpke in Ütersen, Germany. He was sired by the influential stallion Landgraf I, making him a descendant of the renowned Thoroughbred sire Ladykiller XX, which contributed to his significant impact on modern showjumping breeding. Despite initial challenges, including not being immediately approved due to his conformation, Libero H's potential as a showjumper was undeniable. He was eventually accepted by the Holsteiner Verband following his remarkable successes in competition.
Under the skilled guidance of rider Jos Lansink, Libero H excelled in the showjumping arena, claiming 10 World Cup classes and 12 Grand Prix titles, and becoming the Dutch National Champion four times. His crowning achievement was the victory at the 1994 World Cup finals in 's-Hertogenbosch. Libero H also triumphed at prestigious events such as the Grand Prix in Helsinki and the Nations Cup in Kopenhagen, demonstrating his competitive prowess. After his outstanding career, he stood at 'Stall De Wiemselbach' under Hans Horn during his breeding tenure, where he continued to influence the sport.
Libero H proved to be a prolific sire, producing noteworthy offspring that achieved high levels of success in international showjumping. Among his progeny, Castle Forbes Libertina gained international acclaim competing with Jessica Kürten. Lolita H, with rider Toni Hassmann, and No Mercy, ridden by Christina Liebherr at the 2004 Athens Olympics, are further testaments to his legacy. His influence extends beyond his direct progeny, with sons like Numero Uno and Ustinov becoming successful stallions in their own right, further cementing Libero H's impact on the sport horse breeding world.
Libero H died in 2006 at De Wiemselbach stable, DE (Not specified). Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
