EquiWiki (equi.wiki) is a free-to-read encyclopedia of showjumping operated by Horses Smith Ltd, Mannering House, Old Surrenden Manor Road, Ashford, Kent TN26 3DJ, United Kingdom. This page explains what little personal data the site touches, and how third-party media embeds work. Last updated 27 July 2026.
Reading the wiki
You can read every page without an account. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, do not profile readers, and do not sell or share personal data. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent) are kept briefly by our hosting providers for security and capacity purposes only.
Accounts & contributions
If you subscribe to updates, request a horse, submit a video or pedigree, or sign in to contribute, we store the email address you give us and the content you submit, and use the email solely to operate that feature (magic-link sign-in, replies to your request). We never use it for unrelated marketing.
Embedded YouTube videos — API disclosure
EquiWiki uses YouTube API Services to find public videos of the horses and riders we profile, and shows them through YouTube's standard embedded player. By watching an embedded video you interact with YouTube, and Google's own terms apply: see the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Our API calls run server-side inside our editorial pipeline: we store only video IDs, titles and thumbnail URLs needed to embed, and we pass no reader data to the API. We do not access, collect or store any YouTube user information, and we never download or re-host video content.
Your rights & contact
Under UK GDPR you may ask what we hold about you, and ask for correction or deletion — email privacy@horsessmith.com or use the contact form. Profile subjects (owners, riders, studs) can claim or correct their page via the links on it. The Equi Registry app has its own privacy policy.
