About Marius Claudius
Marius Claudius is a (died 2015) Bay showjumping stallion foaled in 1994, by Concorde out of a Nimmerdor dam.
Marius Claudius was a KWPN stallion born on 1st May 1994, renowned in the showjumping arena as both a competitor and sire. He was sired by Concorde, who was a descendant of Voltaire and Flyer, while his dam, Icara, came from the influential Nimmerdor line. Bred by J Uydeswillgen, Marius Claudius emerged from the C472 damline, also known as the Cara-lineage, recognised for producing top-tier competitive horses. His showjumping career was marked by victories with rider Robert Smith, representing England in events such as World Cup qualifications in London and Oslo, and the Grand Prix in Athens. Notable successes included the Prize of Europe in Aachen and participation in the 2003 World Cup Final in Las Vegas, establishing him as a leading son of Concorde. His impact extended to sport horse breeding, with approvals from studbooks including KWPN, Selle Français, AES, Zangersheide, and Hannover, emphasising his value as a sire. Marius Claudius passed away at 21 in 2015, with his legacy carried on through frozen semen available from C A M Van Den Oetelaar BV.
Marius Claudius sired several successful showjumpers, underscoring his influence in the equestrian world. His progeny have excelled in international competitions, particularly in 1.50m to 1.60m classes. Notable offspring include Obama de La Liniere and Itchcock des Dames, both of whom competed successfully at the 1.60m level. His other progenies, such as Britney du Banney, Chatel de la Pomme, Jack, Linguini de la Pomme, and Origi van de Zeshoek, have achieved commendable performances at the 1.55m level, while Ito and Loewie have shown their prowess at the 1.50m level. These achievements reflect the quality and competitiveness characteristic of Marius Claudius's lineage.
