About Nimmerdor
Nimmerdor is a (died 2003) bay KWPN showjumping stallion foaled in 1972, by Farn out of a Koridon dam.
Nimmerdor was a KWPN stallion born in 1972 and bred by J. A. D. Bosma in the Netherlands. His sire was a notable Holsteiner named Farn, and his dam was a KWPN mare called Ramonaa. In 1975, Nimmerdor's outstanding jumping ability was evident during his stallion performance test. Albert Voorn expertly showcased Nimmerdor's skills on the international showjumping circuit, competing in cities like Berlin, Paris, Gothenburg, Dortmund, and London. Although selected for the Los Angeles Olympics, Nimmerdor's owners prioritised his breeding prospects, a move that paid dividends as he became pivotal in modern showjumping breeding. He earned approval from multiple studbooks, including the KWPN and Holstein, and was rated highly in both the Dutch jumping index and WBFSH rankings. Such was his influence that he was celebrated as the 'KWPN Stallion of the Century'. Over his breeding career, Nimmerdor sired more than thirty approved stallion sons, and his lineage continues to make its mark in the international showjumping scene, with many progeny achieving significant successes.
Nimmerdor sired numerous successful showjumpers who made remarkable impacts on the international circuit. Among his offspring, Heartbreaker stands out, having achieved prestigious placements in several Grand Prix events and being named the 'KWPN Horse of the Year' in 2016. Another distinguished progeny, Ahorn, sired horses like Ursula XII, who showcased talent in high-level competitions such as the LGCT Grand Prix of Mexico in 2018. Goodtimes, another notable son, sired Lucky Times, a multiple Pavo Cup champion who competed successfully at the Grand Prix level. Finally, Aram, also a son of Nimmerdor, sired De Sjiem, the gold medallist at the 2000 Olympics.
Nimmerdor died in 2003 at VDL Stud, Netherlands (Not Specified). Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
