About Heartbreaker
Heartbreaker is a (died 2021) bay KWPN showjumping stallion foaled in 1989, by Nimmerdor out of a Silvano dam.
Heartbreaker, a stallion from the KWPN studbook, was born in 1989 and bred by P.S. Koopmans in Bozun, Netherlands. This horse was the offspring of the famed KWPN stallion Nimmerdor and the mare Bacarole. Standing at 1.67 metres, Heartbreaker was recognised for his bay colouring. He showcased his athletic ability in international showjumping, starting his career in 1.40m classes. 1998 saw him win the Nations Cup at Falsterbo and achieve third place at prominent Grand Prix events like Hamburg, Rotterdam, and Geesteren. He also attained fourth place in major competitions in London and Aachen, competing under Peter Geerink. Not just a competitor, Heartbreaker influenced the sport as a sire. 2016 saw him receive the KWPN Horse of the Year award, and he held high rankings on the WBFSH Stallion Rankings. His legacy endures through his successful progeny.
Heartbreaker sired an impressive array of offspring that excelled in showjumping at the highest levels. Among his notable progeny is Action Breaker, who has been successful on the international circuit with Sergio Alvarez Moya, taking part in events such as the Nations Cup of Barcelona and achieving notable placements in CSI5* events in Aachen and Cannes. Another distinguished offspring, Halifax van het Kluizebos, continually topped the WBFSH Rolex World Ranking List, showcasing exceptional performance under Lorenzo De Luca. Heartbreaker's offspring, such as Romanov II and VDL Groep Zidane, have also competed at the 1.60m level, further testament to his enduring influence as a breeding sire.
Heartbreaker died in 2021 at Geesteren Gld, Netherlands (Old age). Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
