About Consul

Consul is a (died 2016) Dark Brown KWPN showjumping stallion foaled in 1984, by Nimmerdor out of a Purioso dam.

Consul was a notable Dutch Warmblood stallion born on March 5, 1984, in the Netherlands. He was bred by J. Kaas and registered with the Koninklijk Warmbloed Paardenstamboek Nederland (KWPN). Consul was sired by the prestigious stallion Nimmerdor and out of the mare Waloniki, both of whom contributed significant genes to his remarkable pedigree.

Initially having a career in show jumping in the Netherlands, Consul was imported to the United States in 1989 where he transitioned to a successful dressage career. Despite this change, his impact remained most profound in the realm of show jumping, where his lineage would further influence the sport.

Consul earned approvals from multiple studbooks, including the KWPN, Oldenburg Verband, and the International Sporthorse Registry, signifying his quality and versatility. Though retired in 1993 due to an injury, his legacy lived on through his exceptional progeny in the equestrian world.

Consul's offspring have made significant impacts in the equestrian sport, particularly in show jumping. Among his most successful progeny is Judgement ISF, a stallion who accumulated over $1.5 million in prize money and represented the United States in ten Nations Cup teams. Judgement ISF exemplified the excellent jumping ability inherited from Consul.

Consul died in 2016 at Iron Spring Farm, USA. Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
