His sire was the noteworthy Capitol I, whose descendants often excelled in showjumping, while his dam, Viola XI, stemmed from Caletto II, famed for producing successful Holsteiners like Olympic champion Classic Touch. Under German rider Otto Becker, Cento distinguished himself in showjumping by securing team gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and team bronze at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
