Chippendale Z was a grey stallion born on 23 April 2000 in Belgium, bred by Harrie Theewes. He was a Zangersheide registered stallion sired by the renowned showjumper Cento, whose bloodlines include Capitol I and Caletto II, and out of M. Unellie 15, a daughter of Cassini I, adding further distinction with Capitol I heritage. Officially approved by the Zangersheide studbook in 2004, Chippendale Z had a promising start in the world of showjumping, reaching competitive heights rapidly.
Under Dutch rider Jos Lansink, Chippendale Z demonstrated his potential by competing in world championships for five and six-year-olds. Later, with Argentinian rider Martin Mello, he reached competition levels up to 1.60m. His brief competitive career saw significant placings in 1.40m classes, underscoring his ability despite a limited show record. Following his sports tenure, he transitioned fully into breeding, leaving a lasting influence on the sport.
Although his career in showjumping was relatively short, Chippendale Z's impact as a sire has been significant. His offspring have gone on to achieve noteworthy successes, ensuring that his legacy within the showjumping community endures.
Chippendale Z has been the sire of several impressive showjumpers, continuing his influence through their achievements. One of his prominent progeny is Legacy, formerly known as Chavantele Z. Under the guidance of Irish rider Daniel Coyle, Legacy has made remarkable strides on the international circuit. Notably, they secured first place in the 1.50m class at the CHIO of Rotterdam. Legacy's participation in the CSIO5* Grand Prix at the same event further highlighted their calibre, achieving a clear round and competing closely with top contenders.
