Cassini I was a Holsteiner stallion born on 1 April 1988, renowned as a prominent showjumping sire. He was bred by Johann Hermann Claussen in Neuenkirchen, with his pedigree strongly influenced by his sire Capitol I and his dam Wisma, descending from Caletto II. His 172 cm height, athletic ability, and stylish grey coat stemmed from these notable bloodlines. Thoroughbred ancestry through Marlon xx added refinement and versatility to his offspring. Cassini I's showjumping career featured riders like Herbert Blöcker, Bo Kristoffersen, and Franke Sloothaak, earning him international prestige in Youngster Tours and Nations Cup events. He placed fourth in the World Cup round at Olympia and secured wins in Nations Cup events at Aachen and Modena. This competitive success cemented his status as a top sport horse and launched his successful breeding career. At the Holsteiner Verband station in Elmshorn, he was instrumental in advancing the breed’s showjumping skills, with high demand for his genetics leading to a restriction on his use to Holstein registered mares.
