About C-Indoctro
C-Indoctro is a (died 2025) Bay showjumping stallion foaled in 1990, by Capitol I out of a Caletto II dam.
C-Indoctro, commonly known as Indoctro, was born in 1990 and is celebrated as one of the most influential Holsteiner stallions in the realm of showjumping. He was a product of the esteemed Capitol I x Caletto II cross, combining highly regarded bloodlines. Bred by Gerd Hansen, Indoctro was recognised for his substantial contributions to the sport, predominantly through his exceptional progeny.
During his brief competitive career, Indoctro competed at the World Young Jumping Horse Championships in 1998, under the guidance of German rider Ulrich Kirchhoff. He reached competition heights up to 1.50m, but it was as a breeding sire stationed at VDL Stud in the Netherlands that his legacy truly flourished.
Indoctro was internationally licensed by multiple prestigious studbooks, including KWPN, Holstein, SF, AHHA, and UNIRE. His influence was further cemented when he was named a 'Keur' stallion in 2022, having been previously awarded 'preferent' status in 2006 for his outstanding contributions to breeding.
Indoctro's legacy in showjumping is largely defined by his numerous successful offspring who have excelled at the highest levels of international competition. His progeny includes Olympic competitors like Imothep and Amarillo, and a multitude of Grand Prix winners such as Casadora and Nassau. These horses have collectively accumulated significant achievements, with several competing at major events including the World Equestrian Games and World Cup levels, showcasing the enduring impact of Indoctro's genetics in the sport.
C-Indoctro died in 2025 at The Netherlands (Natural causes after participating in VDL Stud's Stallion Show). Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
