About For Pleasure

For Pleasure is a (died 2011) chestnut Hannoverian showjumping stallion foaled in 1986, by Furioso II out of a Grannus dam.

For Pleasure, born in 1986 in Adelheidsdorf, Germany, was a Hanoverian show jumping stallion celebrated for his achievements in competition and breeding. Bred by Robert Diestel, this stallion became a legendary figure in equestrian sports. His career highlights include team gold medals at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta under Lars Nieberg and the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney with Marcus Ehning. He excelled with 75 S-level class victories, 10 international Grand Prix wins, and 7 Nations Cup triumphs. Retiring at the 'CHIO 2006' event in Aachen, For Pleasure then influenced the sport as a breeding stallion with the Ehning family. His legacy is seen in his successful progeny. For his outstanding contributions, he was named Hanoverian Stallion of the Year in 2000 and became Stallion of the Century in 2003. For Pleasure passed away on 18 February 2011 in Borken, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

For Pleasure's legacy extends through his numerous accomplished offspring, who have competed at the highest levels of show jumping. His progeny includes Fit for Fun, ridden by Luciana Diniz, noted for excellent performances in 1.60m classes. Another significant offspring is Epleaser van't Heike, who achieved victories in CSIO5* Nations Cup competitions under Christian Ahlmann. Barron, a progeny of For Pleasure, also excelled with rider Lucy Davis.
