Grannus-Granit, also known as Grannus, was a black Hanoverian stallion of significant influence in showjumping. Born in 1972 in Germany, he was registered in the Hanoverian studbook. His pedigree was notable, being sired by the esteemed Graphit and out of the dam Odessa. Although he initially finished a disappointing 58th out of 66 in the 1976 Adelheidsdorf performance tests, his career trajectory changed positively. Under the Klatte family, Guido and Ulrich, he demonstrated advanced jumping capabilities.

Grannus was celebrated not only for his own accomplishments but also as a sire, having produced an impressive number of successful showjumpers. In total, approximately 800 of his progeny entered the competition scene, amassing nearly 5 million Deutsche Marks in prize money, a testament to their competitive excellence. Among his notable offspring were Grannusch, who became a celebrated competitor under John Whitaker, and Top Gun La Silla, who achieved international success with Jan Tops. Additionally, he also sired Grand Plaisir, who competed successfully with Ludger Beerbaum.
