About Escudo I

Escudo I is a (died 2020) Black Hanoverian showjumping stallion foaled in 1991, by Espri out of a Arkansas dam.

Escudo I was a Hanoverian showjumping stallion born on 23 May 1991 at Allmer Knoop's farm in Germany. This stallion was sired by Espri and out of the mare Athene. Raised by Heinz Katt, Escudo I was presented at the 1993 Stallion Licensing in Verden. He was a member of the eminent E-bloodline known for competitive show jumpers. Highlighting his career, Escudo I triumphed at the Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships in Dobrock in 1996 with Joachim Winter. As a proficient competitor, he achieved numerous wins at advanced S-level showjumping with lifetime earnings of €14,187 and secured the title of Vice Bundeschampion in Warendorf. His breeding contributions were significant, winning the Freiherr von Stenglin-Prize at the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 1994 with a jumping score of 144.9 points. His impact was recognised when named Hanoverian Stallion of the Year in 2009.

Escudo I's impact on the showjumping world extends significantly through his offspring, with 766 competitors worldwide earning a collective €3,445,289. Among his most successful progeny is Embassy II, who amassed winnings amounting to €1,128,147. Other notable progeny include El Paso, the Bundeschampion for five-year-old show jumping horses in 2003, and Enorm, who competed successfully on the international circuit with Ludger Beerbaum. Escudo I's sons have carried on his legacy, with numerous offspring reaching advanced levels in showjumping.
