About Chacco-Blue
Chacco-Blue is a (died 2012) brown Mecklenburg / OS showjumping stallion foaled in 1998, by Chambertin out of a Contender dam.
Chacco-Blue was a Mecklenburg stallion born in 1998, known for his remarkable influence on showjumping breeding. His sire was the renowned Holsteiner stallion Chambertin, and his dam was Contara, a mare with a prestigious pedigree featuring the prominent sire Contender, noted for producing showjumping talent. Bred by K.-H. Koepp, he stood approximately 16.3 hands (1.72 meters) tall and had a striking bay coat. Despite having a respectable competitive career, his true impact was as a sire within the equestrian world. During his competitive years, Chacco-Blue achieved a 3rd place finish in the 2011 Grand Prix of Falsterbo and won the CSI3* Grand Prix in Neumünster in 2012 with rider Andreas Kreuzer. He was also ridden by Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst from 2007 to 2010, showcasing his adaptability and talent. His career earnings reached approximately €289,517. Chacco-Blue's life was unfortunately cut short in 2012 due to Lyme disease, yet his legacy continues through over 75 licensed stallions he sired, with descendants excelling in the sport. His genetics and lineage made him highly sought-after, approved for studbooks such as Hannoverian, Oldenburg, and Swedish Warmblood. Since 2018, he has consistently topped the WBFSH Showjumping Sire Rankings, making him a cornerstone of modern showjumping genetics.
Chacco-Blue's legacy is vividly evident through the achievements of his progeny in international showjumping. Notably, Explosion W, ridden by Ben Maher, has excelled at the highest levels of the sport, winning prestigious CSI5* LGCT Grand Prix events in cities such as Madrid, Rome, and Doha in 2018, amassing significant career earnings. Another standout offspring, Chaqui Z, contributed significantly to Ireland's team gold at the European Championships in 2017, showcasing his elite performance with three clear rounds. Chaqui Z also clinched victories at the CSIO4* Grand Prix and Nations Cup in Wellington that same year. Additionally, offspring like Blue Movie and Chacna have made notable contributions, with Blue Movie winning the CSIO5* Grand Prix of Ocala in 2018 and Chacna performing admirably on the international stage, including representing Mexico in the 2018 World Equestrian Games.
