About Narcotique de Muze II

Narcotique de Muze II is a (died 2019) bay sBs showjumping broodmare foaled in 1997, by Darco out of a Chin Chin dam.

Narcotique de Muze II is one of the most influential Belgian foundation broodmares of her generation, and unusually she combined an elite sport career with heavy embryo-transfer production from 1999 onwards. Five of her direct offspring are classified at 1.60m, by five different sires: Querlybet Hero (Baloubet du Rouet), a BWP Ambassador; Loro Piana Boyante de Muze (Kashmir van 't Schuttershof); Farfelu de la Pomme (Vigo d'Arsouilles); Sea Coast Ferly (Calato); and Giovani de la Pomme (Shindler de Muze). A Hippomundo feature of 19 August 2021 counted twelve direct Black Type offspring at 1.45m or higher. At her death in 2019 the reported figures were 23 registered offspring, five approved stallions and 15 international jumpers; the Hippomundo performance page crawled in August 2026 records 24 offspring and 16 sport horses. These are dated snapshots on differing definitions and should not be collapsed into a single total; a commercial source citing 27 competing offspring remains unreconciled. Her deeper significance is transmission through daughters. Seven direct daughters founded major branches: Azuela de Muze (dam of 1.60m Vedet de Muze ET and Felini de la Pomme and of approved stallions Tartufo and Uelo de Muze); Boyante de Muze (dam of 1.60m Nations Cup winner Estoy Aqui de Muze HDC); Sauterelle de la Pomme (dam of Vagabond de la Pomme, 2015 World Cup Final runner-up and a major sire, who died in 2025); Teekitiezzie de Muze (dam of three 1.60m horses - Go Easy de Muze, Hocus Pocus de Muze and BWP Elite stallion Iceman de Muze); Exellentia de Muze, the deepest current branch (Heroine de Muze, Huxx de Muze, Iphigeneia de Muze and Mister Qerly Z all at 1.60m); Baraka de Muze (dam of 1.60m Sterrehof's Ushi); and Fuga de Muze (Pollux de Muze Z and Oliver Twist de Muze at 1.60m). Three of those foundation daughters - Sauterelle, Teekitiezzie and Exellentia - are by For Pleasure, the strongest repeated female-line nick in the accessible record, while Vigo d'Arsouilles worked both directly and repeatedly on her daughters. Honestly assessed, the record proves that top-level performance emerged across several unrelated sire lines and that her daughters produced well even when their own sport level was modest. It does not establish a universal nick, her clinical fertility, her WFFS or other health status, or that every horse marketed with the family name several generations back carries equivalent value.

Own record: An elite Belgian young-horse mare who went on to win internationally. She took the four-year-old final at St-Niklaas in 2001 with the ELITE title, jumped seven clear rounds in the 2002 Belgian cycle to reach the Gesves final, became Belgian six-year-old champion at Gesves in 2003 and placed 25th in the World Breeding Championship final at Lanaken, then finished second in the 2004 national-cycle general classification, seventh at the Belgian Championship in Lummen and sixth in the seven-year-old World Breeding Championship at Lanaken. Sold to Stephex and then to Eric Lamaze at eight, she was third in a 1.45m final at CSI5* Madrid in May 2007, won the $30,000 Enbridge Cup at 1.50m at Spruce Meadows on 7 June 2007 and was second in the $40,000 ATCO Midstream Challenge Cup at 1.50m three days later. In May 2008 she won a 1.45m class at CSIO5* La Baule on the same day her daughter Sauterelle de la Pomme won the young-horse class. Her last FEI-listed results are 1.40m-1.50m starts at Wellington and Calgary in 2009. Her earlier riders were Christel Lenssens and Kurt De Clercq. The highest result-specific level located for her is 1.50m; HorseTelex, Hippomundo and later breeding material classify her at 1.60m, which should be stored as a specialist classification rather than a located result.

Key Qerly Chin daughter; leading mare by black-type offspring.
