About Sandro Boy
Sandro Boy is a (died 2024) dark brown showjumping stallion foaled in 1993, by Sandro out of a Grannus dam.
Sandro Boy, born on 1 January 1993 in Germany, was an influential figure in the world of showjumping, both as a competitor and a breeding stallion. Bred by Rudolf Meyer, Sandro Boy belonged to the renowned Oldenburg lineage. He began his storied showjumping career under the skilled guidance of Marcus Ehning, achieving numerous international victories throughout the 2000s. His crowning achievement came in 2006, when he triumphed in the FEI World Cup Final in Kuala Lumpur. His competitive prowess was further highlighted by wins at prestigious Grand Prix events in Hannover, Bremen, and Lyon. Additionally, he showcased his prowess at the Nations Cup of Barcelona in 2007.
After a vibrant competition career marked by over 1.2 million euros in earnings, Sandro Boy retired from the international showjumping scene in 2011. Throughout his career, he was stationed at Sportpferde Ehning Gbr in Germany, where he spent his years as a competitive athlete and later as a leading sire. Sandro Boy's legacy continued through his exceptional progeny, reinforcing his status as a formidable breeding stallion in the equestrian world.
Sandro Boy was a prolific sire, leaving a lasting legacy through his remarkable progeny. One of his most notable offspring is the mare Sabrina, who achieved substantial success in the showjumping arena, clinching victories in the Grand Prix events of Dortmund and Paris in 2010, and s'Hertogenbosch in 2011. Sabrina's consistent performance and earnings of over €640,000 underscore Sandro Boy's influence as a breeding stallion. Other progeny include Saccor, who excelled at the 1.50m level, and Sandro Boy Junior, known for his achievements in 1.30-1.40m classes.
