About Orlando
Orlando is a Bay KWPN showjumping stallion foaled in 1996, by Darco out of a Heartbreaker dam.
Orlando, a bay Belgian Warmblood stallion born in 1996, is recognised for his significant contribution to showjumping both in competition and as a breeding sire. He first made his mark by becoming the 6-year-old Belgian Champion in 2002 and went on to place second in the 7/8-year-olds at Aachen. His competitive achievements include capturing the CSIO4* 1.50m title in Lummen in 2004 and consistently high placings in international Grand Prix events.
He joined the stud in Belgium in 2000 and expanded his presence to France in 2002, eventually moving to the United States in 2006. Under the rider Dirk Demeersman, and later Darragh Kerrins, he was classified in several CSIO events including those in Wellington. Equally notable is Orlando's inclusion among the top 20 showjumping sires in the WBFSH rankings, reflecting his impactful progeny.
Orlando's pedigree is noteworthy, being sired by Heartbreaker, a bay stallion, and out of the dam Nefista van de Ruitershoeve, linking him to illustrious bloodlines. He was bred by A.I. de Vetter and D. D'Haese and has been approved by numerous studbooks such as BWP, KWPN, and SF, among others.
Orlando is the sire of several progeny who have achieved success in jumping arenas. His offspring Orbetello has competed at the FEI Grand Prix level, reaching heights of up to 1.60m, showcasing the capability and quality of Orlando's lineage. Another of his progeny, Corolando, has participated in various jumping events, including CSI4* classes, though detailed championship victories are less documented.
