About Lancer Ii
Lancer Ii is a (died 2013) Bay showjumping stallion foaled in 1986, by Landgraf I out of a Fantus dam.
Lancer II was a notable Holsteiner stallion born in 1986, renowned for his contributions to showjumping breeding despite lacking a competitive career of his own. Bred by Hans Werner Höpcke, Lancer II became the Holsteiner Stallion Licensing champion in 1988, showcasing his potential as a breeding powerhouse rather than a performer.
His performance test results in 1989 were modest, placing him 25th out of 66 with scores of 104.40 in dressage and 117.25 in showjumping. This outcome, however, did not hinder his success as a sire. Lancer II was approved by multiple studbooks, affirmed by the Holsteiner Verband, enhancing his standing as an influential breeding sire.
During his career, he stood at various prominent stud stations across Europe, including Vogelsanghof in Germany from 1991 to 1999, and later in Spain and Luxembourg, indicating his widespread demand. Passing away in 2013 in Thuringia, Germany, Lancer II left behind a legacy entrenched in the success of over 30 licensed sons and numerous progeny excelling in showjumping.
Lancer II sired several successful offspring, most notably Lancero 4, who competed at an international level. Lancero 4, guided by various riders like Morgan Bachmann, partook in competitions such as the CSI1* Big Tour at Cluny, showcasing the competitive aptitude inherited from his sire Lancer II [fei.org](https://www.fei.org/horse/102SY82).
Lancer Ii died in 2013 at Thuringia, Germany. Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
