About Vivant van de Heffinck
Vivant van de Heffinck is a (died 2024) bay BWP showjumping stallion foaled in 1998, by Fuego du Prelet out of a Landino dam.
Vivant van de Heffinck, a bay Belgian Warmblood stallion born in 1998, is celebrated for his remarkable career in international show jumping and significant contributions to equestrian breeding. Bred by Guido De Brabander at Stal de Muze in Belgium, Vivant showcased a rich pedigree deeply influenced by famous thoroughbred bloodlines. His sire, Fuego du Prelet, was an accomplished jumper from the Alme Z stallion line, and his dam, Scalini van de Heffinck, contributed a line of performance horses carrying the legacy of influential sires like Landgraf I and Jalisco B.
As a competitor, Vivant enjoyed a successful international career. Initially owned by Chris Chugg, he represented Australia at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, securing a 21st place individually and aiding his team's 7th-place finish. That same year, Vivant also placed 7th in the World Cup Finals in Geneva. Transitioning to represent Ukraine under rider Katharina Offel, Vivant competed at the 2012 London Olympics and achieved significant placings, including an 8th place in the 2014 World Championships in Caen with Cassio Rivetti.
After retiring from active competition in 2016 at the age of 18, Vivant moved to Coolballyshan Stud in Ireland to continue his legacy as a breeding sire. He passed away in 2024, but his influence persists in the equine sport through his progeny.
Vivant has sired several successful show jumping progeny, notably Diamond B Vigo, Diamond B Vermont, CP Argento, Viduka, Diamond B Vixen, and Oaks Vivette. These offspring have successfully competed at the international 1.60m Grand Prix level, reflecting Vivant's strong transmission of his renowned blood type, compact frame, and jump scope to the next generation. Their achievements in the show jumping arena underscore Vivant's ongoing impact on the sport.
