Tornesch, a bay stallion foaled in 2000, was a significant figure in international showjumping. Measuring 1.65 metres, he was bred by A. Noordhof-Nieborg, sired by Lux Z, with Ninerta as his dam and Libero H as the damsire. Approved for breeding by the KWPN, Hanoverian, Holsteiner, and Oldenburg studbooks, his pedigree reflected exceptional quality and breeding potential. Throughout his career, he was successfully ridden by Swedish competitor Malin Baryard-Johnsson. They excelled in renowned Grand Prix and World Cup events in Barcelona, Stuttgart, Helsinki, Falsterbo, London, and Verona. Highlights include winning the FEI Nations Cup in Barcelona and Falsterbo in 2012 and competing in World Cup Finals in 2011, 2013, and 2014. Despite losing an eye in 2013, Tornesch demonstrated resilience, maintaining competitive performances until his 2015 retirement. Post-retirement, Tornesch contributed to breeding efforts in Sweden and France, with his offspring achieving success in high-level competitions.
