About Stakkatol
Stakkatol is a (died 2026) Grey showjumping stallion foaled in 2004, by Stakkato out of a Capitol I dam.
Stakkatol was a grey Oldenburg stallion born at Gestüt Lewitz, Neustadt-Glewe, Germany, in 2004. He hailed from an elite lineage, sired by the acclaimed Hanoverian showjumper Stakkato, known for his commanding performances in the FN show jumping breeding valuation. Stakkatol's dam, Caroll, belonged to Holstein line 8795, sharing the heritage of Capitol I, a renowned sire of international sport horses. Early in his career, Stakkatol excelled in young horse classes, securing a win in the 1.40m class at the CSI3* Vejer de la Frontera in 2011. His competitive journey ended in 2012 due to an injury, leading to a focus on breeding. After retiring from competition, Stakkatol became influential in breeding, notably enhancing the French equestrian program during his years at Haras de Saint-Lô in France. By 2021, he ranked as the world's 45th best sire of CSI winners in the WBFSH rankings. His progeny have demonstrated significant success, perpetuating his impact in the showjumping world.
Stakkatol's legacy as a leading sire is evident in the performances of his progeny, many of whom have competed successfully at top levels. His offspring include Stakkatan, who garnered a 4th place finish in a 1.60m class at the CSI5* Global Champions Tour in Saint-Tropez under Andrzej Oplatek in 2021, and Stackfleth, who achieved success in CSI 1.60m classes with Pablo Barrios. Stalognia, described by Paul Schockemöhle as the 'best horse I have ever bred', was sold for €1.7 million at a PSI auction, highlighting the significant market interest in Stakkatol's lineage.
Stakkatol died in 2026 at Haras de Saint-Lô, France (complications from a previous leg injury). Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
