Skippy II was a Selle Français stallion known for his profound impact as a sire in showjumping. Born and bred in France by the Lapierre family, he greatly influenced breeding programmes across Europe, particularly in Belgium. Recognised by multiple studbooks, including the Belgian Warmblood (BWP), his genetic lineage was widely acclaimed. He was the progeny of the sire Galoubet A, a descendant of the legendary Almé, which underscored his breeding value. This esteemed pedigree enabled Skippy II to sire numerous high-performing offspring in international showjumping competitions.
Skippy II sired several successful showjumping horses, the most notable being Tornado d'Hotot and MaPomme de Padoue. Tornado d'Hotot, a mare ridden by Jessica Kurten, reached the prestigious CSI5* level, achieving victories in World Cup qualifiers. MaPomme de Padoue, competing at the 1.50-1.60m level with Olivier Guillon, also made a mark in international events, further demonstrating Skippy II's significant influence on elite showjumping competition.
