About Luccianno

Luccianno is a (died 2025) Bay showjumping stallion foaled in 1999, by Burggraaf out of a Almé dam.

Luccianno was a Selle Français stallion, born in 1999 at Bruno Chassaing’s breeding farm, La Massuère, known for his prowess in showjumping. Under the guidance of Nicolas Delmotte, he reached significant milestones such as being crowned the French champion at ages four and six, and placing sixth in the seven-year-old championship. Luccianno was a contender in many prestigious international competitions, including becoming the French Pro Elite vice-champion in 2008 and winning the GP 5* in Lisbon as well as Nations Cups in Prague, Rotterdam, Rome, and St. Gallen. His competitive career culminated in over €310,000 in prize money before he retired from showjumping in 2011 to concentrate on his breeding career.

As a breeding sire, Luccianno left a remarkable impact on the showjumping world through his progeny. He was entrusted to France Étalons in 2015, contributing significantly to the breeding programme until his passing in 2025 at Lyon Veterinary School. Luccianno's pedigree links back to renowned bloodlines, with his sire Burggraaf and dam Away Pierreville tracing their roots to notable stallions such as Landgraf I, Grand Veneur, and Ibrahim.

Luccianno's offspring have continued his legacy in international showjumping circles. Among his most notable progeny is Chanel du Calvaire, who achieved success as the Canadian Vice-Champion and triumphed in the Ocala Nations Cup, along with placing in 5* Grand Prix events with rider François Lamontagne. Univers du Vinnebus shone as a team silver medalist in Europe’s Young Riders Championship and competed in CSIO 5* events. Meanwhile, Luchino, another progeny, consistently placed in CSI 5* events, notably securing the second position in the 4* Grand Prix at Wiesbaden with Sergio Álvarez Moya. These achievements reflect the substantial influence of Luccianno as a sire in the competitive equestrian world.

Luccianno died in 2025 at Lyon Veterinary School, France. Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
