His sire, Diamant de Semilly, was a celebrated competitor, while his dam, Carthina Z, links back to Carthago, another significant name in the sport. His coat is a striking chestnut with a golden mane, complemented by four white legs, making him a standout in the arena.

Emerald's competition career has been illustrious, marked by numerous achievements at the highest levels of showjumping. Alongside his Dutch rider, Harrie Smolders, Emerald was the reserve champion at the World Championship for Young Horses in 2010.
