Cantus, a renowned Holsteiner stallion, was born in 1981 in Germany and was bred by Ramus Boyschau. Standing at a height of 174 cm, Cantus was positioned as an influential figure in showjumping breeding, rather than through a personal record in competitive events. Approved by the Holstein studbook, Cantus was part of the first crop of Caletto I, intertwining prestigious bloodlines featuring Cor de la Bryère and Rantzau XX.

Despite lacking a known competitive career, Cantus cemented his legacy through his significant contributions in breeding superior showjumping horses. His dam Monoline brought further depth in pedigree, tracing back to renowned stallions such as Roman. This mixture of influential lineage led to a powerful and willing character in Cantus's progeny.
