During his early career, Bentley demonstrated remarkable talent by securing a Bronze medal in the Belgian Young Horse Championships for 5-year-olds and achieving the same medal at the World Young Horse Championships in Lanaken in 2006. The following year, he earned a Silver medal in the Belgian Young Horse Championships for 6-year-olds. His international competition record includes events such as CSI5* Hickstead and CSI4* Bourg en Bresse with Harrie Smolders, CSI5* Mechelen and CSI4* Lummen with Wilm Vermeir.
