About Tinka's Boy

Tinka's Boy is a (died 2022) Chestnut showjumping stallion foaled in 1989, by Zuidpool out of a Zeus dam.

Tinka's Boy, originally named Hooper, was a chestnut Dutch Warmblood stallion of notable pedigree, tracing back to significant Trakehner and Holstein lines. Born on 10 June 1989, in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands, he was bred by J.P. Muntjewerf of Heiloo. The stallion was sired by Zuidpool and out of a Zeus-mare named Esprit, reflecting his strong KWPN heritage. Tinka's Boy's journey into showjumping fame began with British rider Nick Skelton, before moving to Swiss equestrian Markus Fuchs in 1997, under the ownership of Isolde Liebherr.

During his illustrious eight-year competitive career, Tinka's Boy achieved remarkable success. He secured a total of 26 international Grand Prix victories, including prestigious wins such as the Grand Prix d'Aix la Chapelle. His prowess on the international stage also contributed to a silver medal for the Swiss team at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and medals at European Championships including team silver and individual silver in 1999, as well as team bronze in 2001. His triumph at the 2001 FEI Jumping World Cup Final further solidified his legacy as a top-tier showjumper.

In terms of financial success, Tinka's Boy amassed over CHF 2.5 million (€2 million) in prize money throughout his career. He was formally retired in 2006 at the Gothenburg Horse Show, transitioning to a successful stud career shortly thereafter. His influence continued in the breeding world, marking him as a sire of numerous successful showjumpers.

Tinka's Boy has sired a significant number of successful offspring, with over 500 registered progeny to his name. Among his notable progeny is Tinka's Serenade, who competed in the 2012 Olympic Games and achieved numerous victories in CSI5* events under rider Billy Twomey. Another prominent offspring, Tinka's Hero Z, competed at 1.60m levels with Simon Delestre. His progeny have consistently reached high levels in international competition, further cementing Tinka's Boy's impact on the sport of showjumping.

Tinka's Boy died in 2022 at Béligneux Le Haras, France. Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
