About Pacino
Pacino is a (died 2013) dark bay showjumping stallion foaled in 2004, by Diamant de Semilly out of a Muguet Du Manoir dam.
Pacino was a highly successful showjumping stallion, known for his remarkable achievements in the sport. A dark bay Belgian Warmblood, he was born on 1 July 2004, bred by Haras des Reves, and acquired as a three-year-old by Clem McMahon and his mother Maureen. Pacino's sire was the esteemed Diamant de Semilly, a consistent top ranker in the WBFSH Sire Rankings for show jumping, and his dam was by Muguet Du Manoir. Trained and ridden by Clem McMahon, Pacino made an indelible mark in the showjumping world, most notably being part of the Irish team that won the Nations Cup at both Hickstead and Dublin in 2012, securing the prestigious Aga Khan trophy.
In his competitive career, Pacino also distinguished himself by finishing as the leading eight-year-old showjumper globally in 2012. Earlier, he competed at the World Young Horse Championships in Lanaken, achieving a commendable third place in a qualifier as a six-year-old. Unfortunately, Pacino's promising trajectory was cut short when he succumbed to kidney failure in early 2013, despite significant efforts by the McMahon family to save him.
Pacino's legacy lives on through his progeny, with several offspring excelling in international competitions. One of his most prominent offspring is Pacino Amiro, an Irish Sport Horse born in 2012, bred by Simon Scott. Pacino Amiro has reached impressive heights in showjumping, including winning the 1.55m CSI5* WEF Challenge Cup in Wellington, Florida, in March 2023. Another noteworthy progeny is Sacino, born in 2013, who has also shown strong performances in notable events, securing placements at 1.35m levels.
Pacino died in 2013 at Hilton View Stud (Kidney Failure). Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
