About Lordanos
Lordanos is a (died 2021) Bay showjumping stallion foaled in 1993, by Landos out of a Ahorn Z dam.
Lordanos was a bay Holsteiner stallion born in 1993, celebrated for his showjumping success and contributions as a breeding sire. Standing at 169 cm, he was bred by Heiko Büttner in Schafstedt, Germany, and traced back to the renowned 'Ramiro line' 776, known for high-performing sport horses. He inherited talent from his sire, Landos, who reached 1.40m in showjumping, and his dam, W-Ashley, descended from Ahorn Z. Lordanos won nearly 40 young jumper competitions and excelled in 1.40m and 1.50m classes consistently for 11 years. He also competed in prestigious events like the Puissance, clearing jumps of up to 2 meters, and finished fourth in the German Spring-Derby in 2009. As part of the Sosath family, multiple members rode him to victories in advanced (S) level classes. Retiring at 18, Lordanos influenced the sport through offspring who have won over 3 million Euros in Germany, with over 300 in high-level contests worldwide. His achievements were recognised as 'Jumper Sire of the Year' in the USA in 2013.
Lordanos sired several renowned offspring who achieved great success in international showjumping competitions. HH Let's Fly and Lordan are among his notable progeny, with Lordan securing victory at the prestigious Zoetis $1 Million Grand Prix at HITS Saugerties in 2013, winning a prize of $350,000. Lex Lugar, another of his sons, was the winner of the 2010 German National Derby and shared the VTV Stallion of the Year title with Lordanos in the same year. His progeny continue to leave a mark, extending Lordanos' influence well beyond his lifetime.
Lordanos died in 2021 at Sosath stud farm, Germany (N/A). Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
