About Levisto

Levisto is a (died 2021) grey showjumping stallion foaled in 1997, by Leandro out of a Carolus I dam.

Levisto Z is a Holsteiner showjumping stallion born in 1997, celebrated for his competitive prowess and breeding success. Bred by Klaus-Peter Wiepert in Germany, he boasts a pedigree that includes sire Leandro and dam Hirtin, with lineage tracing back to prominent stallions like Landgraf I and Carolus I.

His competitive career was marked by representing Belgium under the skilled riding of Judy Ann Melchior. Levisto Z excelled in prestigious international circuits, achieving victories in Grand Prix events in cities such as Helsinki, Sao Paulo, Lyon, Rio de Janeiro, and Hamburg. Noteworthy participations also include the European Championships at Windsor in 2009 and the World Cup Final in Gothenburg in 2008.

Following his retirement in 2013, Levisto Z transitioned into a successful breeding career at Studfarm Zangersheide. He passed away on 10 December 2021, leaving a lasting legacy in showjumping sports and breeding.

Levisto Z has sired several progeny that have excelled in international showjumping. Mr Visto, competing at the 1.50m level under rider Lauren Tisbo, achieved significant success in Europe and the US, including in CSI4* and CSI5* competitions. Another notable descendant, Pumped Up Kicks, demonstrated excellent performance in top-level events. Additionally, Luna van't Ruytershof has been successful in the Belgian Championship and achieved Grand Prix 5* success.

Levisto died in 2021. Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
