Helios de la Cour II was a Selle Français stallion born on 19 May 1995 at the Haras de la Patoyère in Moyon, France, and he is notable for his achievements in show jumping. Owned and bred by Emmanuelle and Jean-François Couetil, he was ridden exclusively by Alexis Gautier. Helios had an impressive career, being crowned French Champion in the three-year-old category in 1998 and becoming double French Pro Élite Champion in 2010 and 2011. Despite a serious paddock accident in 2006, which resulted in a torn kneecap, Helios returned to competition in 2009 and achieved a highest show-jumping index (ISO) of 172 in 2011, marking the pinnacle of his sporting career.
Helios de la Cour II sired over 700 foals during his career as a breeding stallion. Among his notable progeny are Qui vive de la Tour, who achieved a show-jumping index (ISO) of 161, and Urhelia Lutterbach, who succeeded in international competitions. These offspring continue to uphold Helios's legacy in the show-jumping arena, demonstrating his significant impact on the sport.
