About Cruising
Cruising is a (died 2014) Grey showjumping stallion foaled in 1985, by Sea Crest out of a Nordlys dam.
Cruising was an Irish Sport Horse stallion born in 1985, recognised for his excellence in showjumping and a significant breeding influence. His competition career was distinguished by several notable victories in Grand Prix events, including wins at Aachen and Dortmund in 1999, and Lucerne in 1998. Additionally, he claimed World Cup Qualifiers at Millstreet in 1997 and 1998, and Geneva in 1998, under the guidance of rider Trevor Coyle.
Bred by Bord Na gCapall and owned by the McCann family of Hartwell Stud, Cruising's pedigree includes the Irish Draught stallion Sea Crest and the International show jumper Mullacrew. His contributions to the world of showjumping extended beyond his own achievements in the ring to his impact in the breeding sector, where his progeny have excelled on international platforms.
Cruising sired several successful showjumpers, notably including Flexible, who achieved second place in the 2008 World Cup Final in Gothenburg and triumphed in 2012. Flexible also ranked sixth in the 2012 Olympics and was awarded USEF Horse of the Year the same year. Another offspring, Mr Cruise Control, secured victory at the Luhmuhlen CCI4* event and was ranked sixth on the WBFSH Eventing Sires standings in 2013.
Cruising died in 2014 at Hartwell Stud, Ireland (not stated). Breeding may continue via frozen semen — confirm availability with the stud.
