Champion du Lys is a grey Selle Français stallion born in 1990, famous for his success in international show jumping. Sired by Laeken, he descends from Mexico's notable sport horse bloodlines. Among his competition successes, he won the Hamburg Derby in 2003 under the primary guidance of rider Ludger Beerbaum. His esteemed pedigree is recognised by several studbooks, including the Swedish, Holsteiner, and Zangersheide. Over his career, he accumulated prize money exceeding EUR 133,000.
Champion du Lys, despite limited use in breeding, has sired several successful progeny that have excelled in the showjumping circuit. One of his notable offspring is Caballero, who distinguished himself by winning the World Championship for Show Jumping Horses in Lanaken and became one of the most expensive horses at the PSI Auction in 2006.
