Stephan de Freitas Barcha is a Brazilian showjumper, born on 27 October 1989 in Rio de Janeiro and based with Chevaux Team in Brasilia. He holds FEI ID 10021897 and stood 37th on 2,152 points in the Longines ranking snapshot of 6 August 2026. His published sporting background records that he began riding at eight at the Sociedade Hipica Brasileira and moved to Italy at twenty; the FEI biography names his parents and his coaches as the greatest influences on his career.

He has made two verified competitive Olympic appearances. At Rio 2016 with Landpeter do Feroleto he started the individual qualifying rounds and Olympic Team Round 1 before the combination was mandatorily disqualified under FEI Jumping Rules Article 242.3.1 after blood was found on the horse's flanks; the Ground Jury confirmed the decision on protest and the Appeals Committee confirmed it on appeal, and he did not start the later individual rounds or Team Round 2. Brazil's fifth place in the team competition is the team's result and is not a Barcha team-final start. At Paris 2024 with the Brazilian-bred mare Chevaux Primavera Imperio Egipcio he made verified individual and team-qualifier starts, completing his team round with four faults in 76.45 seconds before Brazil was eliminated in qualification, then qualifying 13th individually and finishing fifth in the individual final - his best Olympic result.

His two senior championship medals both come from the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, where he took individual gold and team bronze with Primavera. The Pan American Games are a senior continental multi-sport championship: these are not World Championship medals and not Rolex Grand Slam Major results. He also won team gold and individual silver at the 2022 South American Games in Asuncion, a regional championship held separately from that total. No competitive senior World Championship start and no FEI Jumping World Cup Final start is recorded before 6 August 2026; his 2009 Porto Alegre win was a World Cup South American League qualifier, not a Final. He was named among Brazil's five combinations for the 2026 Aachen World Championships, but the competition begins on 19 August 2026 and a selection is not a start.

Barcha has no Rolex Grand Slam Major victory. He finished fourth in the Rolex Grand Prix at CHIO Aachen in July 2025 with Primavera, a genuine Major placing; his third place in the 2023 CSI5* Rolex Grand Prix at Piazza di Siena in Rome carries Rolex sponsor branding but is not one of the four Majors. On 4 July 2026 he won his first five-star Grand Prix, the LGCT Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco with Dinozo Imperio Egipcio - a five-star Grand Prix, not a Major.
