Laura Kraut, born on 14 November 1965 in Camden, South Carolina, USA, is a renowned American showjumping rider. Throughout her illustrious career, she has represented the United States at multiple Olympic Games, capturing an impressive array of medals. Her first Olympic involvement was as an alternate in the 1992 Barcelona Games, later making her competitive debut at the Sydney 2000 Olympics with her horse Liberty. Kraut's most notable Olympic achievement came in 2008 in Beijing, where she secured a team gold medal with her legendary horse Cedric. This pair also triumphed multiple times in Nations Cup events and Grand Prix victories, solidifying Cedric's place as one of her greatest equine partners.

Beyond Beijing, Kraut achieved further success at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, where she claimed a team silver medal with Baloutinue, and she repeated this feat in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her consistency in major championships is further reflected in her World Equestrian Games performances, where she earned team silver in Aachen in 2006 and team gold in Tryon in 2018.
