About Harry Charles

Harry Charles, born on 15 July 1999, is a prominent British showjumping rider representing Great Britain at international levels. Emerging from a family with a strong equestrian background, he has quickly ascended the ranks within the showjumping discipline, following in the footsteps of his father, Peter Charles, who also had a successful career in showjumping.

Harry's career boasts participation in significant competitions, such as the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he competed aboard Romeo 88. He also competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics, once again riding Romeo 88. The pair's synergy was further reflected in their achievement of a team bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships in Herning.

Competing in the FEI World Cup™ Final in Omaha in 2023 with Balou Du Reventon, Harry Charles further demonstrated his competitive prowess. His participation in CSI5*-W events saw him riding to third place in Bordeaux in 2024 alongside Sherlock. Additionally, in 2024, he contributed to the Great Britain team's victory at the FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final in Barcelona.

Training out of Heathcroft Farm in Hampshire, UK, Harry Charles has consistently shown an aptitude for forming dynamic partnerships with his horses, including notable rides on Romeo 88, Sherlock, and Balou du Reventon. His standing in the Longines Rankings as of early 2024 is 13th worldwide, while he maintains the top position in the FEI Jumping U25 Ranking.
