Gert-Jan Bruggink, born on 17 March 1981 in Hengelo, Netherlands, is a renowned showjumping rider who has represented the Netherlands at major international competitions. He has participated in the Olympic Games, World Equestrian Games, and European Championships, achieving notable success throughout his career. Bruggink's partners in competition have included several accomplished horses such as Joel, Primeval Dejavu, and Andrea.

Bruggink's competitive career is marked by participation in the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics, where he ranked 28th individually and contributed to the Dutch team's 4th place finish. At the 2002 FEI World Equestrian Games in Jerez de la Frontera, he helped his team finish 5th while placing 31st individually. His other notable appearances include the 2003 European Show Jumping Championships in Donaueschingen, where he finished 8th with the team and 16th individually.
