Éric Navet, born on 9 May 1959 in Bayeux, France, is a prominent showjumping rider. His equestrian journey commenced with early training on ponies, leading to accolades in national and European youth championships in 1976 and 1977. A career-defining partnership with stallion Quito de Baussy saw them win individual and team gold at the 1990 World Equestrian Games in Stockholm. In 1991, Navet and Quito de Baussy triumphed with a gold medal at the European Championships in La Baule. At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, they earned a bronze medal in the team event. Navet's skill was further proven in 2002 at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez de la Frontera, securing team gold and individual silver with Dollar Du Murier. Competing in multiple World Championships and Olympics, he also claimed five French National Championship titles between 1992 and 2007. Navet mentors World Cup rider Karl Cook in Southern California, where he now resides.
