Abdullah Alsharbatly, FEI ID 10000564, is a Saudi Arabian showjumper born on 21 September 1982 in Westminster, London, and 43 years old at 6 August 2026. He is still active, holding a 2026 FEI jumping registration and sitting 43rd on the live Longines world ranking. His name is transliterated in several ways — Alsharbatly, Al Sharbatly, Al-Sharbatly, Abdullah Waleed Sharbatly — but the FEI identity number and date of birth confirm these are one man.

His two landmark senior results are a competitive individual start at the 2010 World Championships in Lexington, where he took silver on Seldana di Campalto after finishing the Final Four on eight faults, and London 2012, where he made both a team and an individual start with Sultan, winning team bronze and placing 51st individually. Those were Saudi Arabia's first World Championship equestrian medal and first Olympic equestrian team medal. He also started the 2006 World Championships in Aachen with Hugo Gesmeray, and has the deepest Asian Games record of any Saudi jumper: team gold at Doha 2006, Guangzhou 2010, Jakarta–Palembang 2018 and Hangzhou 2022 (staged in 2023), individual gold at Incheon 2014 and Hangzhou, and team silver at Incheon. Asian Games titles are continental multi-sport championship results and are not World Championships.

He is a long-serving FEI Jumping World Cup Final competitor, with reconstructed starts at Las Vegas 2005, Kuala Lumpur 2006, Geneva 2010, Leipzig 2022 and Riyadh 2024, where he finished 16th; the FEI described Riyadh as his seventh Final. His many Arab League – Middle East wins are qualifying legs, not Finals. He has no Rolex Grand Slam Major win: his five-star Grand Prix victories at the Doha Tour in January 2024 with Alamo and at the HH The Amir's Sword, Al Shaqab, in February 2026 with the mare Diriyah are five-star Grands Prix, not Majors.

Two matters are recorded exactly as they stand on the public record. In 2012 his horse Lobster 43 tested positive for phenylbutazone and oxyphenbutazone at Al Ain; the FEI Tribunal imposed an eight-month suspension on 23 May 2012, and on appeal the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced it to two months as an infraction of minor importance, the award expressly noting that this was a controlled-medication case and not an anti-doping rule violation. And at Paris 2024 he helped Saudi Arabia win its qualifying place at Doha in February 2023 with a double clear on Alamo, but was replaced before the Olympic competition by the reserve Khaled Almobty: he made no Olympic start in Paris, and only London 2012 counts as an Olympic appearance.
